TEACH THE SINGER

In our "Teach the Singer" workshops, we offer a comprehensive program that better prepares singers for the professional field. Our courses focus on vocal technique, physical and mental awareness.

Margreet Honig Summer Academy – France (a.k.a. Zen, Singing and Acting)

The Zen, Singing and Acting (ZZS) summer course was founded in 2009 and takes place annually at the Préau estate in France. During this six-day summer course, in addition to vocal technique, attention is also paid to physical and mental awareness. For example, acting and drama lessons are offered, as well as meditation sessions. The underlying idea is that when a singer feels physically and mentally strong, this will be reflected on stage. The 2026 team consists of Margreet Honig & Selma Harkink (individual singing lessons), Marc Brookhuis (Zen), Elsina Jansen (acting/drama), and pianist Jorian van Nee.
The course accommodates a maximum of ten international singers every year.

27 juni – 4 juli 2026 in L’Huy Préau, Frankrijk (www.preau.nl)

TEACH THE TEACHER

In the "Teach the Teacher" workshops, the focus is on collaboration. In these workshops, singing teachers gather with students to advise and question each other in intensive discussions. The goal of the training is to develop and strengthen each other through this interaction. The workshops are led by Margreet Honig, who is eager to share her ideals with the next generation of singing teachers.
Some of the teachers also attend the Margreet Honig Summer Academy and Zen, Singing and Acting courses. A great way to stay up to date on the developments of the MHF is to subscribe to our newsletter.

MHF Studio

The MHF Studio was developed as part of Teach the Teacher. Maarten Koningsberger coaches beginning singing teachers in their teaching skills. This two-year program consists of nine sessions per year.

The following singing teachers have now successfully completed this training (under Margreet Honig): Kirila Kraal, Erik Slik, Hetty Gehring, Bert van de Wetering, David van Laar, Frank Hermans, Sterre Kooi, Nicole Fiselier, Silvia Hauer, Sophie Sauter, Eline Welle, Henriette Schenk, Kimon Barakos, Stephanie Gericke, Catrin Wyn-Davies, Pascal Zurek and Virpi Raisanen.

Registration for the 2025 -2026 season is possible until July 6.

MHF Online Studio

- Watch Maarten Koningsberger Teach Teachers Online

The MHF Online Studio offers a unique opportunity to observe Maarten Koningsberger as he imparts his wisdom to aspiring vocal teachers. Set in an intimate living room environment, utilizing the YouTube platform, a single camera perspective, and one microphone, participants gain insight into the dynamics of how a small group delves into the art of teaching.

The Online Studio provides you with the chance to remotely peer into a teaching practice, offering a glimpse into the intricacies of the craft.

Please note that the sessions will be conducted in English.

Registration is possible throughout the entire 2025–2026 season. This is because all sessions can be rewatched on YouTube (exclusively for participants of the MHF Online Studio).

Testimonial:

Thanks a lot for the great online-workshop “MHF Studio Online – teach the teachers” It is very inspiring and helpful to remember the exercises and refresh the tools. And we can breath and renew the spirit and the message of Margreets way to teach. I am really happy and grateful about this.

All my Love

Roswitha Mueller (voice teacher and singer)
